Lori definitely stood out from other writers during her time here, and more importantly, she was one of the nicest people I ever had the pleasure of knowing. We were able to raise enough money to get her home out of foreclosure, however, that only kept it safe for the time being. The amount of monies raised (which has been in other media outlets) represents monies that were raised from a fundraiser earlier this year as well as grants that Lori received from various writing organizations. Those monies helped cover early medical expenses. I just wanted to make sure that there wasn't confusion about how things were left. To date, Lori's medical bills are over $100,000.
