Louder Than Words

Things have been pretty quiet here. But that’s okay.

When you get alone with God…and honor and embrace Him
for all that He is…

  • Holy
  • Changeless
  • Powerful
  • Peaceful
  • Generous
  • Genuine
  • All-knowing
  • Blessed
  • Beautiful
  • Glorious
  • Jealous
  • Just
  • Righteous
  • The source of all truth, wisdom, goodness…. love
  • Eternal
  • Perfect

…you may find yourself speechless. But that’s okay.

“Be still and know that I am God.”~ Psalm 40:10

Sometimes,

silence

speaks louder than a scream.

That awe-filled silence comes before complete surrender.

    Hi Jamie,
The idea of surrender, why is that such a tough one? Well, it is for me, anyway. Surrendering our lives to Christ, it sounds so good, and maybe even superficially I can say that I’m doing that. If I look deep, though, I know I’m not. I know I struggle with this, way more than I care to admit. Today, Jamie, that’s what I’m seeing. I think I need some time in silence, alone with our God. And if I do this, I wonder how loud the silence will be, and what I will be hearing…

What you are doing, Jamie, is the right thing. Very much so…

    Jamie,

When I start my mornings with quiet time alone with God, it makes a huge difference in my day and my life. I can be centered, focused and keep my head on the important things. When I don’t, it’s easy to get blown away.

I am a firm believer in the message of the silence.

During college, I truly believe that my quiet moments, helped to get me through. I would take 10 minutes to sit still (eyes opened or closed- what helps you) without distractions.

I learned to embrace these times of reflection. When you don’t have that time, you miss it. :)
